Global Fund for Children (GFC) is seeking a passionate and skilled Program Officer for their Boys and Young Men (BYM) Initiative. This role offers the chance to contribute to a transformative mission—empowering youth and advocating for gender equity. GFC partners with grassroots organizations to amplify social change, supporting youth empowerment, education, gender equality, and freedom from violence.

The Role: The Program Officer will play a key role in the second phase of GFC’s Boys and Young Men Initiative. This will involve:
- Cohort Building & Support: Developing relationships with local partners focused on positive, healthy masculinities, managing grants, and helping organizations enhance their work with boys and young men.
- Youth Voice & Participation: Promoting the inclusion of boys and young men in public conversations and social change initiatives.
- Funder Partnership: Collaborating with peer organizations and other stakeholders to raise awareness of the challenges facing boys and young men in the UK and advocate for funding and support.
The role will involve travel within the UK and regular collaboration with global teams working on similar issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build trust-based relationships with grassroots partners
- Manage grants, assess progress, and ensure measurable outcomes
- Develop a strategy for the initiative, including work plans and evaluation frameworks
- Facilitate capacity-building activities to address partner needs
- Promote youth participation and amplify voices in advocacy
- Engage with stakeholders and funders to build a network of support
Essential Skills:
- Experience in youth work, particularly with boys and young men
- Strong facilitation and communication skills
- Proven ability to manage projects independently
- Commitment to GFC’s values and mission
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with storytelling and communications
- Background in co-designing youth-centered programs
- Knowledge of gender equity issues
