Applications are now open for a part-time Education Policy Intern/Fellow position supporting the Education Scholars Training Program (ESTP), an initiative designed to strengthen collaboration between academic researchers and policymakers in the United States.
The opportunity is offered by the Scholars Strategy Network, a nonprofit organization focused on advancing evidence-based public policy through strong partnerships between scholars and decision-makers.
This remote role provides students with practical exposure to education policy processes while contributing to programs that translate academic research into real-world policy impact.
About the Education Scholars Training Program (ESTP)
The ESTP supports scholars researching education issues by helping them engage policymakers, communicate research findings effectively, and contribute to policy conversations grounded in evidence.
Through the internship, participants gain insight into how research influences policymaking and how relationships between scholars and policy actors are developed and maintained.
Key Responsibilities
Selected interns or fellows will contribute to several program activities, including:
- Supporting outreach to policymakers and stakeholders
- Assisting with meeting preparation and documentation
- Editing policy briefs and outreach materials
- Coordinating communication with participating scholars
- Supporting event planning and program logistics
- Observing policy and media training sessions
- Contributing to program monitoring and impact assessment
- Participating in weekly team meetings and mentorship sessions
Position Details
- Location: Remote
- Workload: 10–15 hours per week
- Compensation: USD $15–$18 per hour (depending on experience)
- Start Date: January 2027
- Duration: Spring 2027 semester
- Work Environment: Remote-first organization with optional office access in Boston for eligible candidates
