Applications have opened for the 2026 intake of the ARIPO Young Professionals Programme, an intensive work-based training and development initiative designed to prepare talented young graduates for impactful careers. The programme offers hands-on professional exposure in areas connected to intellectual property as well as key administrative functions, with the goal of building a skilled pool of professionals capable of supporting economic and developmental progress within their home countries. It brings together participants from varied academic disciplines whose qualifications align with ARIPO’s technical and operational needs.

Eligibility is limited to citizens of ARIPO member states, including Botswana, Cape Verde, Eswatini, The Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sudan, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in fields such as business-related studies, law, business analytics, project management, strategy, or telecommunications, obtained within the last five years. Candidates must also be 28 years old or younger at the time of applying and demonstrate strong organisational and analytical abilities, effective communication and interpersonal skills, independence at work, creativity, digital competence, and a high standard of written and spoken English.

Successful participants will receive a monthly allowance of USD 2,500, along with a one-time settling-in grant equal to one month’s stipend at the start of the programme. The programme covers travel costs to the host country at commencement and return travel home upon completion, in addition to providing medical insurance with the majority of the cost covered by the employer. Participants are entitled to annual, sick, and compassionate leave, as well as group life, funeral, and accident insurance. Upon completing the programme, a one-off repatriation grant equivalent to one month’s stipend is also provided. Only applicants who are shortlisted will be contacted.

Selected candidates receive a competitive monthly stipend of USD 2,500, along with a one-time settling-in grant equivalent to one month’s stipend to help cover initial relocation costs. Travel expenses to the host country at the start of the programme and return travel to the participant’s home country upon completion are fully covered. Participants also benefit from medical insurance, with the employer contributing the larger share of the cost, as well as access to annual, sick, and compassionate leave. In addition, group life, funeral, and accident insurance are provided, and a one-off repatriation grant equal to one month’s stipend is paid at the end of the programme to support a smooth transition after completion.
