Applications are now invited for the 2024 Commonwealth Youth Excellence Awards, presented by the Commonwealth Youth Programme. This prestigious recognition honors outstanding young individuals (aged 15-29) within the Commonwealth who are driving positive change and sustainable development in their communities.

Eligibility Criteria:

- Nominees must have at least 12 months of experience in development work, either professionally or voluntarily.
- Nominees must be citizens of a Commonwealth country and conducting development work within a member state.
- Nominees must be between 15 and 29 years old by December 31, 2024.
- Self-nominations or nominations by others who can accurately describe the nominee's work are accepted.

Awards Process:

- Four finalists will be selected from each Commonwealth region, with the top entries receiving the Regional Excellence Award.
- The top Regional Excellence winner will receive the Pan-Commonwealth Excellence Award and be named the 2025 Commonwealth Young Person of the Year.
- The 20 Regional Finalists will each receive a £1,000 grant, trophy, and certificate.
- The 5 Regional Excellence winners will receive an additional £2,000 (totaling £3,000), trophy, and certificate.
- The Pan-Commonwealth Excellence winner will receive an additional £2,000 (totaling £5,000), trophy, and certificate.
- The Khalili Foundation will also present three youth PEACE awards to young individuals working in peace and development.
- Additional grants may be offered by the Commonwealth Foundation based on eligibility.
- Winners will be officially announced during Commonwealth Week in March 2025.
