VOLUNTEER ROLES: Apply to join the ClimateLive COP30 team – several positions open
Join the Climate Live COP30 Team
Climate Live is seeking dedicated individuals to become part of its global youth team in preparation for its second pavilion at COP30 in Brazil. This follows the success of their pavilion at COP28 in Dubai. The initiative aims to provide a platform for young voices, promote artivism as a catalyst for change, and create a welcoming, safe space amidst the conference’s intensity.
The organization is currently recruiting volunteers to support roles in communications, programming, fundraising, logistics, and onboarding. A commitment of two hours per week is expected. This opportunity is open to individuals aged 35 and under.
Although Climate Live is unable to offer guaranteed funding, badges, or accommodation for COP30, they hope to secure sufficient resources to support some team members. Selection for funded spots will prioritize those who make significant contributions in the lead-up to the conference.
In communications, volunteers will work across three areas. The social media team will oversee Climate Live’s platforms, crafting and scheduling dynamic content and launching campaigns to enhance visibility. The website team will maintain an up-to-date, accessible, and user-friendly site, uploading announcements, schedules, and media. For multilingual engagement, the translation team will translate materials from English into Portuguese, Spanish, and French.
For programming, team members will curate activities aligned with Climate Live’s mission and campaign goals. Responsibilities include securing speakers, performers, and key partners, as well as collaborating with other working groups to ensure smooth execution.
Fundraising volunteers will identify sponsors and funding sources, develop strategic fundraising plans, and ensure financial transparency. They will also provide regular updates on funds raised and their allocation.
The logistics team will manage travel, accommodation, and on-site coordination, such as venue bookings, technical setup, and stage management. Ensuring adherence to COP30 logistical requirements will be essential, alongside working with programming and communications teams for event coordination.
Finally, onboarding volunteers will conduct calls for new members. Training will be provided to ensure seamless integration into the team.
For those eager to contribute to Climate Live’s COP30 efforts, applications are open until March 9.
