With a Fully Funded Trip to Rome for the World Food Forum : Join the  FAO Global Youth Contest 2026  

Applications are open for Young learners and professionals from around the world to participate in the 2026 FAO Global Youth Contest, an international initiative designed to showcase how learning can create real-world impact. Organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) through the FAO eLearning Academy, the competition seeks inspiring stories from young people who have applied knowledge gained from FAO courses to advance their studies, careers, projects, or community initiatives.

The contest offers a unique platform for participants to highlight their learning journeys while contributing to global conversations on sustainable agrifood systems.

About the Contest

The Global Youth Contest, themed “From Learning to Impact,” encourages participants to share personal experiences demonstrating how courses completed through the FAO eLearning Academy have influenced their academic, professional, or community development.

Applicants are required to submit a written impact story describing how they transformed learning into action. Entries should be supported by certified digital badges earned through completed FAO eLearning Academy courses.

The initiative aims to recognize young changemakers who are using knowledge and skills to promote sustainable development, food security, innovation, and inclusive agrifood systems.

The World Food Forum will take place from 12–15 October 2026 in Rome, Italy.

Evaluation Criteria

Applications will be reviewed based on:

  • The quality and authenticity of the impact story
  • Evidence showing how acquired knowledge was applied in practice
  • Number of certified digital badges earned
  • Verified completion of FAO eLearning Academy courses
  • Availability to participate in the award process and travel activities
  • Contributions to inclusion and diversity

Three outstanding participants will be selected to receive:

Eligibility Criteria
- Be between 18 and 35 years of age

- Come from any country or region worldwide

- Be registered learners on the FAO eLearning Academy platform

- Demonstrate how FAO learning opportunities have contributed to their personal, academic, or professional growth

- Have successfully completed FAO eLearning Academy courses and earned certified digital badges

- Possess a passport valid until at least April 2027 if selected as a winner

- Young people from underrepresented, marginalized, or vulnerable communities are particularly encouraged to apply.
