Applications are now open for the 2024/25 Leadership for Africa DAAD Masters Scholarships to study in Germany.

This "Leadership for Africa" scholarship program aims to support young refugees and scholars from Benin, Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, and Mauritania to study for a Master's degree in Germany.

The program wants to help develop future leaders who can contribute to the growth of their home countries. The scholarship is open to applicants from all fields except Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Dentistry, Law, Fine Arts, and Architecture.

To be eligible, applicants must either be highly qualified refugees with refugee status in one of the mentioned countries or highly qualified graduates from one of these countries. They must have completed their Bachelor's degree and meet the necessary qualifications for Master's studies in Germany.

The scholarship includes a German language course, tuition-free Master's studies at a public or state-recognized university in Germany, and additional training in good governance, civil society, and career development. The funding covers living expenses, insurance, travel allowance, and study materials. If applicable, it also covers rent subsidy and allowance for accompanying family members.

The program starts with a German language course in April 2025, followed by the Master's program in October 2025. The funding duration is determined by the standard study period of the chosen program, usually two years. The DAAD decides on the funding duration and language course participation based on individual circumstances.
