To qualify for the scholarship:
- Applicants must be citizens of Kenya or Uganda to benefit from the respective national quotas, or refugees residing in Uganda and Kenya to benefit from the regional quota.
- They should be from economically disadvantaged or marginalized communities, including those from conflict and post-conflict areas.
- For undergraduate studies, applicants must be under 25 years old, while for master's studies, they must be under 30 years old. Refugees and persons with disabilities have extended age limits.
- Applicants should have completed secondary school or a diploma within the last two years.
- They must meet the admission criteria for eligible programs at Egerton University or Gulu University.
- Demonstrated interest in agriculture, agribusiness, and entrepreneurship, as well as leadership qualities and a commitment to serving humanity, are also required.
