Erasmus Mundus MAPP Scholarship 2027/29 for International Students | Fully Funded Master’s in Public Policy
Applications are now open for the 2027–2029 Erasmus Mundus Master in Public Policy (Mundus MAPP), offering an opportunity for international students to pursue a two-year master’s degree focused on public policy while studying across leading universities in Europe and the United Kingdom. The programme is an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s supported by the European Union and combines academic study with practical policy experience, including opportunities such as internships, policy-related activities, study visits and a master’s thesis.
Mundus MAPP is delivered by a consortium comprising Central European University in Austria, the International Institute of Social Studies of Erasmus University Rotterdam in the Netherlands, the Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals (IBEI) in Spain and the University of York in the United Kingdom. Students follow one of the programme’s mobility tracks and study at two universities in two different countries during the two-year programme, earning 120 ECTS credits. The programme is taught in English and is designed for students interested in public policy and related areas such as governance, political economy, development and international affairs.
The Erasmus Mundus scholarship provides selected students with substantial financial support throughout the programme. The scholarship package includes a full tuition-fee contribution and a monthly allowance of approximately €1,400 for up to 24 months, amounting to as much as €33,600 over the full scholarship period. Scholarship support can also include contributions towards travel and installation costs, while health insurance coverage is provided as part of the Erasmus Mundus funding package.
The programme is open to applicants from different countries who meet the academic and admission requirements. Applicants are generally expected to hold a relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification and demonstrate sufficient proficiency in English. Candidates should carefully review the specific academic, language and mobility requirements for their preferred study track before applying. The scholarship is highly competitive, and requesting financial aid is incorporated into the main application rather than requiring a separate scholarship application.
For the 2027–2029 cohort, applications for Erasmus Mundus scholarship consideration must be submitted by 1 December 2026. Applicants should prepare their academic documents, CV, motivation or personal statement, recommendation letters and any required proof of English proficiency well ahead of the deadline. The programme is scheduled to begin in September 2027.
Students interested in pursuing an international career in public policy, governance, development, political economy or related fields are encouraged to review the eligibility requirements and submit their applications before the scholarship deadline.
