To proceed in the award selection process, nominees need to fulfil each of the six requirements mentioned below. Nominations of oneself are not accepted.

A living woman who is at least eighteen years old must be the nominee. Nominations made after death are not accepted.
The nominee needs to be a foreign national.

The candidate ought to be promoting peace in a nation or area that is unstable or plagued by war. A nation or area that is unstable is one that is vulnerable to violent conflict.
The nominee needs to be willing and able to visit the US, take part in a social media campaign, and give public speeches about her work.
- During the 24 months preceding the nomination's submission, the nominee could not have been a contractor, grantee, fellow, or employee of USIP.
The candidate is not eligible to get the Women B.
