On September 20, 2024, United Nations will host a half-day event dedicated to amplifying youth voices and promoting meaningful engagement in policymaking. This initiative aligns with the UN's priorities and the Pact for the Future's focus on youth and future generations.

In collaboration with various UN entities, youth constituencies, and partners, the UN Youth Office will lead the organization of this event. The goal is to advance concrete actions on cross-cutting priorities highlighted by young people, including diversity, inclusion, and accountability.

The event will feature an opening ceremony, a high-level dialogue with the Secretary-General, and breakout sessions in three rooms, each focused on a specific theme. Up to 10 young persons (18-30 years old) will be selected to participate in person, with support from the UN Youth Office.

Participants will engage in preparatory meetings, webinars, and trainings, share their experiences and expertise, and take speaking roles as relevant. They will also receive support for travel, accommodation, and subsistence, as well as mentorship and preparation for the engagement.

This event aims to strengthen intergenerational solidarity and dialogue, ensuring that young people's voices are heard and valued in shaping a sustainable future.
