The Youth Day of Service (YDOS) is a Pan-African youth-led social impact movement that amplifies, empowers, and recognizes the contributions of young people towards the Sustainable Development Goals in Africa through capacity-building, funding, and project amplification support. YDOS is a month-long celebration held alongside the UN International Youth Day, designed to ignite the agency and creativity of young people across Africa, fostering a culture of communal support and community-driven sustainable development.
LEAP Africa, through the YDOS is a continent-wide, youth-driven movement that coincides with the United Nations International Youth Day, commencing on August 12 every year.
Its objective is to amplify the potential of African youth by harnessing their ingenuity, passion, and influence to drive progress towards the Global Development Objectives. By providing support, expertise, and resources, LEAP Africa seeks to catalyze individual and communal growth. LEAP Africa’s Impact Fund offers financial backing to support the execution of registered projects aligned with the SDGs across Africa.
