Grant of €1,000 Available : Apply for the Gen2030+ Fellowship for the Future of Sustainable Development 2026–2027 in Austria
Applications are now open for the Gen2030+ Fellowship for the Future of Sustainable Development 2026–2027, a unique opportunity designed to empower young people in Austria to develop and implement innovative projects that contribute to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The fellowship is jointly implemented by the Ban Ki-moon Foundation and the Austrian Federal Chancellery and aims to strengthen youth participation in shaping a more sustainable future while preparing for the next phase of development beyond the 2030 Agenda.
The program will select 18 young fellows from across Austria, with two participants representing each federal state, to participate in a seven-month learning and project implementation journey.
Through financial support, mentorship, networking opportunities, and direct engagement with policymakers and sustainability experts, participants will have the opportunity to transform their ideas into practical solutions that create measurable impact within their communities.
Program Duration
The fellowship will run from October 2026 through April 2027.
During this period, participants will strengthen their knowledge of sustainable development while designing and implementing projects that address one or more of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
Project Requirements
Applicants must submit a concrete project proposal as part of their application.
Projects should:
- Be implemented within one of Austria's nine federal states
- Be completed within four to five months
- Address one or more Sustainable Development Goals
- Create positive change within local communities
- Generate long-term social or environmental impact
Existing projects may also be considered if they can be expanded, strengthened, or scaled during the fellowship.
