A specialised United Nations agency, the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is a global financial institution whose mission is to end hunger and poverty in rural areas. It invests in rural residents to achieve this. In addition to providing funding for initiatives that boost rural incomes and agricultural output, IFAD promotes policies that support rural transformation on a local, national, and global scale.
Position
The six-month Internship Programme (IP) and the Enhanced Internship Programme (EIP) provide recent graduates and students specialising in fields related to IFAD's purpose with a unique learning opportunity. In addition to being 30 years of age or younger, applicants for the internship program must be enrolled in an approved university or graduate program, have taken classes within the previous 12 months, and have finished at least two years of undergraduate work at the time of application.

Eligibility Criteria
When joining IFAD through the program, you must be enrolled in a university or graduate school, have attended classes within the last year, and have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies. Alternatively, you must have recently finished undergraduate or graduate studies at the university level and speak English fluently; knowledge of other IFAD official languages is an advantage. It may be necessary for interns hired by IFAD national offices, multi-country offices, or regional office locations to be fluent in the primary language and be 30 years of age or younger. Candidates who match the aforementioned eligibility requirements and are not based in Rome are eligible to apply for the Enhanced Internship Programme, which is specifically designed to improve the regional dispersion of IFAD staff.
