About WoMin
WoMin, launched in October 2013, is an African ecofeminist alliance which works alongside organisations of women, peasants and mining-impacted communities, and in partnership with other sympathetic organisations, to make visible and publicise the impacts of extractives on peasant and working-class women; to support women’s organising, movement-building and solidarity; and to advance, in alliance with numerous others, an African post-extractivist, ecologically just, women-centred alternative to the dominant destructive model of development.WoMin is an all-women feminist organisation, headquartered in Johannesburg, South Africa, with staff based across the continent.

 Programme Coordinator: Women Building Power (WBP)

WoMin is seeking a dynamic and innovative coordinator for Women Building Power to lead our work in this area with an explicit ecofeminist viewpoint.

The following Key Performance Areas will be specifically under the purview of the chosen candidate:
directing the work of WoMin in constructing an anti-capitalist, ecofeminist African climate justice movement.
giving overall strategic direction to WoMin's Women Building Power initiatives.
supporting and participating in the planning, development of movements, gatherings, and campaigns that tackle the two main issues WoMin is addressing as Women Building Power: climate reparations and green extractivism.
taking part in and speaking on behalf of WoMin on a number of regional and global forums in order to further WoMin's just development alternative concept and methodology for an African ecofeminist.

Ideal start date: 2 September 2024
Location: Remote anywhere on the African continent with significant travel
Salary: Salaries at WoMin are dependent on applicable salary scales, internal pay policies and budget. This is a senior position in WoMin, and the candidate assumes responsibility for the political direction of the Women Building Power (WBP) Programme.
