Apply for the Empower360 Young People’s Fellowship

Solidarity Uganda is proud to introduce EYPF, a dynamic fellowship designed to foster mentorship, inclusive dialogue, and collective action. Anchored in our robust theory of change—Inspiration, Education, and Action—this fellowship aims to equip young leaders with the skills and knowledge to drive transformative change. Join us and be part of a movement to create a more inclusive and equitable Uganda!
There is a noticeable drop in democratic civic engagement throughout Africa. Limitations on freedoms and repressive actions are limiting voices and exacerbating issues related to gender rights, social justice, inequality, and the pressing need to address climate change. The erosion of civic involvement and the retreat of human rights highlight the urgent need of developing the next generation of caring and visionary leaders as authoritarian trends gain traction across the globe.
Empower360 Young People's Fellowship (EYPF) is proudly introduced by Solidarity Uganda in response to the country's urgent need for transformative leadership. The Fellowship aims to establish a dynamic ecosystem that fosters multi-stakeholder engagements, inclusive dialogue, and mentoring in order to promote group action and ongoing learning. Our strong idea of change, which consists of three essential elements—Inspiration, Education, and Action—is the foundation of the Fellowship. We are convinced that each of these components is necessary to ignite significant change:
 Inspiration:

In times of injustice and oppression, inspiration acts as the catalyst that drives individuals to move beyond complacency and take action. It sparks the passion and determination necessary to challenge the status quo and envision a better future.

Education:
Knowledge is a powerful tool that enables individuals to pursue change effectively. Without access to education, people may resort to ineffective or harmful methods to seek change. Our goal is to equip fellows with the knowledge and skills they need to harness their collective power and advocate for sustainable and peaceful solutions.

 Action:
Transformative change demands decisive action. Without proactive engagement, even the most inspired and educated individuals may struggle to create meaningful change. We are dedicated to empowering our fellows to turn their inspiration and education into concrete actions that drive positive change in their communities.

The Goal

To cultivate a new generation of young leaders who are skilled, courageous, and dedicated to creating an inclusive and equitable Uganda, ensuring everyone has an equal opportunity to succeed.

Program Delivery

The fellowship will be conducted through a comprehensive mix of residential and virtual workshops over three months. These immersive learning experiences will allow fellows to deeply engage with the fellowship's core principles, collaborate with peers, and develop practical skills for driving impactful change.

Don't miss out on the application deadline which is 30th August 2024.
