As the foremost global environmental authority, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) establishes the environmental agenda, encourages the UN system's cogent application of sustainable development's environmental component, and acts as a credible spokesperson for the environment. The UNEP Communication Division spreads the organization's main themes to all partners and stakeholders in an effort to increase environmental awareness and raise UNEP's visibility globally. This position is in the Nairobi duty station's Communication Division.
4.Investment Officer
The United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund's (UNJSPF) assets are invested under the direction of the UN Secretary-General. The Representative of the Secretary-General has been given this authority by the Secretary-General to invest UNJSPF assets (RSG). Heading the Office of Investment Management (OIM), the RSG oversees a global investment portfolio valued at over $90 billion, comprising many asset classes, of which around 85% is actively managed internally. Global stocks, fixed income, foreign exchange, private equity, real estate, infrastructure, timber, and commodities are among the asset types that are managed. The employees of OIM are situated in New York and represent more than 30 nations. This position is located in the Real Estate Team.
5.Chief of Section
This role is in the Statistics Division of DESA's Data Innovation and Capacity Branch, specifically in the Statistical Capacity Management Section. The Chief of the Data Innovation and Capacity Branch/Statistics Division/DESA receives reports from the Chief of the Statistical Capacity Management Section. The development of the international statistical system is the primary goal of the Statistics Division. The Division develops standards and norms for statistical activity, gathers and distributes worldwide statistical data, and assists nations in fortifying their domestic statistical systems.
