Applications are invited for the 2025 UNESCO AfriMAB GRÓ LRT Land Restoration Fellowships, offering a unique opportunity for two individuals from African biosphere reserves engaged in restoration efforts. The GRÓ Land Restoration Training Programme provides a comprehensive six-month training in Iceland, focusing on sustainable land management and restoration techniques, hosted by the Agricultural University of Iceland.
The program comprises two phases: the initial 12 weeks involve coursework, practical training, and field trips, while the subsequent 12 weeks are dedicated to individual projects, allowing fellows to specialize in areas relevant to their academic and professional backgrounds.
Successful completion of the program leads to a Postgraduate Diploma in Ecosystem Restoration and Sustainable Land Management (30 ECTS) from the Agricultural University of Iceland.
The fellowship covers all academic expenses, including tuition, travel, and health insurance, as well as a stipend to cover living expenses during the six-month stay in Iceland. The program commences in March 2025.
