The 2024 Youth Innovation Contest: Collaborating to Improve and Protect our Planet (CIPP) is open to children and young people from Belarus, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. It is organised by the International Centre for UNESCO ASPnet (ICUA) and the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education (UNESCO IITE). With the help of this global campaign, you have a one-of-a-kind chance to showcase your scientific, technological, and creative skills while helping to create a better, greener future.

Overview of the Contest

The theme of the competition is sustainable development, or preserving and enhancing our planet for coming generations. You will get the opportunity to investigate significant international concerns such as constructing sustainable cities, protecting marine ecosystems, and addressing climate change. You are welcome to submit creative works in any medium you like, including paintings, stories, poems, and research essays, that express your vision of a more sustainable Earth.

Two age groups can enter the contest:

Children's Group: Ages 5 to 10

Youth Group (Ages 11–17)

We would like to hear your opinion on these important matters, whether you are working alone or in a small team of two to three persons. What steps should be taken, in your opinion, to preserve forests, safeguard marine life, or create more environmentally friendly communities? How would you handle climate change using technology? Your concepts might lead to practical solutions!

• Registration and Submission: 5 September – 30 September 2024
• Preliminary Evaluation: 1 October – 15 October 2024
• Final Selection & Closing Ceremony: 16 October – 30 November 2024
