Apply to join the African Feminist Academy for Climate Justice in Nairobi, Kenya

The African Women's Development and Communication Network (FEMNET) will be organizing the **3rd African Feminist Academy for Climate Justice**, and invites you to embark on this powerful journey of reclaiming knowledge and authority for the well-being of both our communities and the planet.

The climate crisis continues to affect millions of people worldwide, especially in Africa, where women and girls, in all their diversities, face the greatest burden. Despite their efforts, their voices are often silenced, their lived experiences neglected, and their needs ignored. Left to confront numerous challenges, African women are organizing, preserving indigenous wisdom, and innovating to safeguard the environment, address climate change, and confront oppressive systems. African women and girls are determined that the climate story on the continent must be rewritten.

The Academy will bring together African women's rights organizations, youth-led initiatives, and feminist movements to explore the science, history, politics, and economics of climate change.

This immersive week-long workshop offers participants the opportunity to engage, exchange ideas, and receive support from remarkable feminists working across different fields, all united in the fight for Feminist Climate Justice. Throughout the Academy, participants will reclaim and exchange knowledge, challenge concepts and assumptions, theorize, write, and stand firmly in their beliefs.

The Academy will be held from December 2nd to 6th, 2024, in Nairobi, Kenya.

Application Deadline: October 7th, 2024.
