Job Title: Programme Manager - Climate Action Partnerships

Location: Kampala, Nairobi, or Kigali (Hybrid: Home, co-working, and partner offices)

Duration: Full-time, 40 hours/week, ASAP until end of 2027 (potential extension)

Last Mile Climate, a pioneering humanitarian NGO, seeks an experienced Programme Manager to lead their East Africa team in implementing Climate Action Partnerships. This initiative, funded by the IKEA and Robert Bosch Foundations, aims to drive transformative change in climate action.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee program strategy, implementation, and progress in East Africa
- Lead and mentor country teams, fostering collaboration and inclusivity
- Build and maintain partnerships with NGOs, governments, UN agencies, and private sector stakeholders
- Manage resources, budgets, and financial planning
- Monitor and evaluate program impact, adapting strategies as needed
- Advocate for policy changes and community engagement strategies

Requirements:

- Proven program management experience in non-profit or international development
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to travel extensively within East Africa and globally
- Deep understanding of climate change issues in humanitarian contexts (desirable)
- Experience working with last mile communities (desirable)
