Climate Cardinals is inviting applications for a part-time Translation Manager position for individuals interested in supporting the organisation’s work to make climate information more accessible across languages.

The Translation Manager will oversee Climate Cardinals’ translation process from the moment a request is received through to final delivery. The role involves managing translation requests from partners, responding to questions from volunteers, monitoring progress, addressing issues that arise, and making sure completed translations are delivered on time.

The organisation primarily uses Phrase to manage its translation workflow, with much of the process automated. The successful candidate will therefore be expected to keep the system running smoothly, monitor ongoing requests and help resolve any problems that may affect delivery or quality.

Climate Cardinals has recently introduced a new translation dashboard, and the Translation Manager will also play a role in testing the system and identifying ways it can be improved. Candidates should be comfortable spotting problems, taking initiative to make practical improvements, and working independently while knowing when to involve other members of the team.

Experience in startups, product design, product operations or similar environments would be particularly useful for this position. Experience with translation or knowledge of additional languages is an advantage, although it is not required.

The position requires approximately 6–8 hours of work per week and pays $18–20 per hour, with compensation adjusted according to the local economy. The Translation Manager will report to Climate Cardinals’ Chief Programs Officer and will meet with them at least once every two weeks.
