INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY : The World Food Forum is looking for enthusiastic, visionary individuals
Organizational Overview ; The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is advancing the 2030 Agenda through its Strategic Framework, aimed at transforming agri-food systems to be more efficient, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable, fostering better production, nutrition, environmental care, and quality of life while ensuring no one is left behind.
This Call is to recruit interns for the Office of Youth and Women (OYW) at FAO’s headquarters in Rome, Italy. The OYW serves a dual purpose: within FAO, it supports youth and women’s career growth and integrates gender and youth-focused themes across the organization; externally, it collects and applies innovative ideas on youth and women in line with FAO’s mandate. The OYW oversees initiatives like the FAO Youth and Women’s Committees and the World Food Forum (WFF) Global Youth Action, which creates a global platform to promote agrifood system transformation. It drives leadership in gender equality, youth empowerment, and women’s advancement in FAO’s programs and partnerships, collaborating with global initiatives, the UN, and stakeholders to advocate for and engage youth and women in the sector. The OYW works with FAO units to implement the FAO Gender Equality Policy and the Rural Youth Action Plan.
Launched in 2021, the World Food Forum (WFF) is a youth-driven, global network supported by FAO. It empowers young people to drive sustainable solutions in agrifood systems, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the UN Food Systems Summit 2021. Acting as a premier youth platform in food governance, the WFF seeks youth-led innovations and action.
