The 2025 Lake Chad Climate Justice Youth Fellowship is now accepting applications. This dynamic two-year initiative is designed to support and empower young individuals from the Lake Chad basin who are eager to make a meaningful contribution to the fight for climate justice and the protection of their environment.
This long-term fellowship offers a unique opportunity for young changemakers to develop essential skills, expand their networks, and access the tools required to drive real change. Participants will benefit from a series of immersive learning experiences, including interactive sessions on environmental justice, creative storytelling, project leadership, and data interpretation.
Throughout the program, fellows will receive personalized guidance from experienced climate professionals based in Africa, as well as insights from international thought leaders. They will also have the chance to represent their communities at major climate-focused events on both the continent and the global stage. To support local impact, fellows will be eligible for funding to design and execute grassroots environmental initiatives within their communities.
Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 35 and should be residents of countries in the Lake Chad region, including Nigeria, Chad, Niger, or Cameroon. Ideal candidates are those with a proven interest or background in climate advocacy, environmental protection, or related work.
