FULLY FUNDED TO SWITZERLAND: Apply to the World Bank Group GovTech Innovation Challenge 2025 for early stage startups and innovations
Applications are now being accepted for the 2025 edition of the World Bank Group’s GovTech Innovation initiative. This unique program offers startups and small enterprises the chance to work alongside the World Bank in creating digital tools aimed at enhancing tax administration in Ghana later this year.
Eligible applicants include early-stage ventures, growing tech companies, and small to medium-sized enterprises that are officially registered, employ fewer than 75 people, generate less than $5 million USD annually, and demonstrate strong technical and operational skills related to the focus area. Applicants must also be ready and able to actively engage in all program activities.
Chosen participants will be invited to a dynamic four-day GovTech Bootcamp held in Switzerland. This immersive experience is designed to inspire practical innovation through collaboration. Attendees will take part in site visits to globally respected institutions such as EPFL, SICPA, and other Geneva-based organizations. The program also includes mentorship sessions and networking events that connect participants with leaders in both public and private sectors, especially within the Swiss financial landscape.
In addition to practical workshops on how to work with governments, navigate regulations, plan for scaling, and tailor proposals to public-sector needs, participants will have the opportunity to present their solutions at a high-profile GovTech Conference in Geneva. This event will host more than 500 attendees and feature discussions on pressing topics like the role of artificial intelligence in public governance, building digital trust, and the use of quantum computing in state operations.
The three most promising innovations will be spotlighted during the conference, with teams showcasing their ideas to an international audience. Broader discussions will reflect on lessons learned throughout the challenge, explore ways technology is reshaping government finance, and highlight the critical role of trust and security in digital public services.
