Calling all Bangladeshi youth: Apply for the ICCCAD Youth Fellowship Programme 2026 for young changemakers

Applications are open for the ICCCAD Youth Fellowship Programme, a year-long initiative designed to strengthen the role of young people in climate resilience and sustainable development. This opportunity invites Bangladeshi citizens between the ages of 18 and 30 who are either pursuing undergraduate studies or have recently graduated. While prior experience in climate-related work is an advantage, the fellowship primarily seeks highly motivated individuals with a strong interest in climate action, good analytical and communication skills, and a readiness to learn, collaborate, and share ideas.

The fellowship offers participants a comprehensive learning journey that combines capacity-building workshops, a field visit to a climate-affected area in Bangladesh, and online courses on climate change and development. Fellows will also be given the chance to attend both national and international conferences, engage with policymakers to discuss local climate challenges, and gain access to mentorship throughout the programme. Outstanding participants may also receive seed funding to implement their innovative ideas and contribute to practical climate solutions.

Over the course of the 12 months, fellows will develop leadership skills, work on collaborative projects, and build networks with other young climate leaders. They will also join a growing community of ICCCAD youth alumni, gaining further opportunities for involvement in future initiatives. To successfully complete the programme, fellows must actively participate in at least 80% of the online classes, attend the residential training and field visit, and submit regular monthly reports reflecting their experiences and progress.

At the end of the fellowship, participants who meet the requirements will be awarded an official certificate, presented during a closing ceremony. While the programme provides valuable learning and networking opportunities, it is not linked to employment at ICCCAD.

Selection will be conducted through an open and competitive process. Applicants who meet the criteria will be shortlisted and invited for online interviews, after which the final list of fellows for the 2026 cohort will be announced.
