Applications are now open for the Queen Elizabeth II Commonwealth Trust’s 100 Young Leaders Awards 2026, a prestigious initiative commemorating what would have been Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s 100th birthday in April 2026. This award aims to recognize 100 exceptional young leaders from across the Commonwealth who are driving positive change in their communities. Building on the legacy of the Queen’s Young Leaders programme, the initiative celebrates individuals from diverse regions, representing five key focus areas: education and employability, environment, food and agriculture, health, and inclusion. The awards seek to elevate the profiles of these young leaders globally, empowering them to further amplify their social impact within their communities, countries, and regions.

Awardees will gain international recognition for their leadership and the positive impact of their initiatives. They will have the opportunity to attend an awards ceremony, receive mentorship and tailored capacity-building support, and access a microgrant to help scale their projects. In addition, winners will benefit from networking with global leaders, funders, and peers, as well as media exposure that highlights their work. This award is designed to amplify the efforts of young changemakers and provide them with tools, resources, and visibility to expand their social impact across their communities and countries.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be young leaders aged 18 to 35 who are making a measurable social impact within their communities. Eligible candidates should be founders, co-founders, or hold key leadership positions in initiatives that address pressing challenges in areas such as education, employability, health, environment, or inclusion. Applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of one of the 56 Commonwealth countries and have at least 12 months of demonstrable impact in their initiatives. Strong leadership skills, commitment to ethical practices, and a track record of tangible outcomes are essential. The application must be submitted in English.

United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, India, South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, New Zealand, Jamaica, Singapore, and all other member states of the Commonwealth.
