FULLY FUNDED : Apply For The ADB–Japan Scholarship Program 2026

The Asian Development Bank–Japan Scholarship Program (ADB–JSP) is inviting applications for the 2026 academic year, offering around 135 fully funded graduate scholarships for exceptional individuals from developing member countries of ADB.

Supported by the Government of Japan, this long-standing initiative provides talented students the chance to pursue advanced studies in key development-related fields across 25 top universities in Asia and the Pacific, including 15 institutions in Japan.

Established in 1988, the ADB–JSP aims to cultivate leaders who will contribute to sustainable and inclusive growth in their home countries. Scholars are expected to return home upon completing their studies to apply their new expertise in driving economic, social, and environmental development.

The program covers a range of disciplines vital to regional advancement, including:

  • Science and Technology (Engineering, Environment, Health, Energy, Computer Science, Agriculture)

  • Economics, Business, and Management (Finance, International Cooperation, Entrepreneurship, Accounting, E-Business)

  • Development Studies (Development Management, Asia-Pacific Studies, Social Sciences)

  • Law and Public Policy (Public Administration, International Law, Political Science, Policy Studies)

Program Benefits
- Selected scholars receive a comprehensive financial package, including:

- Full tuition fees

- Monthly allowance for living and housing expenses

- Books and study materials

- Medical insurance

- Travel costs to and from the academic institution

-Additional research or thesis preparation grants, where applicable
Eligibility Criteria
- Be a citizen of an ADB borrowing member country eligible for Japanese ODA support.

- Hold a bachelor’s degree with an excellent academic record.

- Have at least two years of full-time professional experience post-graduation.

- Be under 35 years old at the time of application (exceptions may apply).

- Be proficient in English (both written and spoken).

- Be in good health and committed to returning home to contribute to national development for at least two years after completing the program.

- Not hold dual citizenship with a developed country.

- Not be currently employed by ADB, its affiliates, or the designated academic institutions.
