Applications are open for the new funding window aimed at strengthening youth leadership in climate justice across Europe. The Youth Climate Changemakers Fund is designed to support young people and youth-led groups that are driving meaningful change—but may lack the financial resources, training, or visibility needed to grow their impact.

Many youth organisations are already doing remarkable work, while others are active in social fields that could naturally connect to climate justice but have not yet had the chance to bridge that gap. This fund was created to help both types of groups take their work to the next level.

This makes the Youth Climate Changemakers Fund one of the most comprehensive support mechanisms available for youth climate action in Europe.

Part of the Funding Fairer Futures Initiative

The fund sits under Funding Fairer Futures, a broader initiative created in partnership with Climate Action Network, WECF, Christian Blind Mission Ireland, and ECOLISE. The initiative aims to strengthen the climate movement by making it more inclusive and accessible—especially for communities and perspectives that are often overlooked.

Priority Areas

Applications are encouraged from groups that are:

1. Strengthening youth participation in climate action
Providing financial and technical support to help youth-led organisations grow and deepen their impact.

2. Reaching communities not typically engaged in climate issues
This includes groups that work outside traditional environmental spaces but see opportunities to link their work to climate justice.

3. Building long-term impact
Projects that show potential for lasting influence or growth beyond the funding period.

4. Contributing to a just transition
Projects that complement the larger Funding Fairer Futures campaign and work toward climate justice, equity, and community empowerment.
