Join the Global Lived Experience Advisory Group on Climate, Environment & Mental Health
United for Global Mental Health (UnitedGMH) is launching a new Lived Experience Advisory Group (LEAG) focused on the intersection of climate change, environmental challenges, and mental health. This global initiative is designed to ensure that people with lived experience play a central role in shaping advocacy, policy, and action at national and international levels.
The group will bring together 12 members worldwide, with two representatives from each WHO region, who self-identify as having lived experience of mental health conditions.
What the Advisory Role Involves
Members of the LEAG will contribute their insight, leadership, and expertise by:

Providing strategic input into global and country-level advocacy efforts

Helping shape inclusive, rights-based, and culturally relevant approaches to integrating mental health into climate and environmental policies

Supporting the meaningful representation of lived experience voices in international forums, including global climate and health spaces such as COP events
Group Structure and Selection

A total of 12 members will be selected globally

Applications will be reviewed as part of a competitive selection process

Final outcomes will be communicated by the end of January 2026

Co-chair roles will be determined at a later stage
