Applications Open for the Local Conference of Youth and Children on Climate Change (LCOY) Uganda 2026

Applications are now open for the Local Conference of Youth and Children on Climate Change (LCOY) Uganda 2026, a youth-led national climate conference supported by YOUNGO, the official youth constituency of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The conference will take place from 5–7 August 2026 at the UNICEF Offices in Kampala and UNIPOD, Makerere University.

Held under the theme "Children and Youth-Led Climate Action and Innovations for Resilience and Development," the conference will bring together young leaders, children, students, researchers, innovators, entrepreneurs, policymakers, civil society organizations, and other climate stakeholders to exchange ideas, showcase innovative solutions, strengthen collaboration, and contribute to Uganda's youth perspectives in national and global climate processes.

Participants will have the opportunity to engage in discussions on climate resilience, sustainable development, youth leadership, innovation, and policy advocacy. In addition to attending the conference, applicants may also submit proposals to organize side events that promote dialogue, knowledge sharing, and practical climate solutions.

Eligibility Criteria

- Be available to participate in the conference from 5–7 August 2026 in Kampala.

- Complete the official registration form before the application deadline.

- Side event organizers must submit an additional proposal through the application form.
