Program Benefits

Selected volunteers will receive a monthly basic volunteer allowance of approximately USD 412.50 during their period of service. Participants will also gain valuable professional and cross-cultural experience, receive capacity-building opportunities, and contribute to regional development initiatives. The programme provides an excellent platform for networking with professionals across West Africa and enhancing employability through practical work experience in diverse sectors.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be citizens of an ECOWAS Member State and be between 18 and 35 years of age at the time of application. Candidates are expected to possess at least a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from a recognized institution and demonstrate a strong commitment to volunteerism, regional integration, and community development. Applicants should have good communication skills and be willing to serve in a country other than their own within the ECOWAS region. Proficiency in one of the official ECOWAS languages—English, French, or Portuguese—is desirable, while knowledge of additional ECOWAS languages is considered an advantage.

Eligible Countries

The programme is open to citizens of ECOWAS Member States, including Benin, Cabo Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, and Togo. Applicants must hold the nationality of one of the eligible countries and meet all programme requirements.
