Call for Applications: Doha Debates Ambassador Program Cohort 9 (2026)
Applications are now open for the Doha Debates Ambassador Program Cohort 9, offering young people from around the world an opportunity to strengthen their leadership, communication, and dialogue skills through a fully virtual international program. Running for 12 weeks, the initiative brings together emerging leaders from diverse backgrounds to explore global challenges, exchange perspectives, and develop practical skills that support meaningful collaboration across cultures.
Throughout the program, participants take part in interactive learning sessions led by experienced facilitators and mentors. They gain experience in discussing complex international issues, understanding different cultural viewpoints, improving public speaking and storytelling abilities, and learning how to facilitate respectful and productive conversations. The experience also encourages participants to reflect on their own perspectives while building lasting relationships with fellow ambassadors from different parts of the world.
The program requires a commitment of approximately four to five hours each week. Participants attend weekly live online sessions and complete additional learning activities through the Doha Debates online community. The experience concludes with the World Majlis, a global virtual event where ambassadors put their newly developed dialogue and facilitation skills into practice. Those who successfully complete the program receive an official certificate and become part of the Doha Debates alumni network, opening doors to future events, workshops, mentoring opportunities, and continued engagement with the global community.
Applications will remain open until August 24, 2026. Interviews for shortlisted candidates are scheduled for September 8–11, while successful applicants will be notified on September 15. The program runs from September 22 to December 1, 2026, with the World Majlis taking place on December 8, 2026.
Eligible applicants must be between 18 and 26 years of age at the start of the program, demonstrate fluency in English, have reliable internet access for virtual participation, complete the full application process before the deadline, and be available to attend the weekly online sessions held every Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. AST.
Young people interested in developing intercultural leadership skills, expanding their international networks, and contributing to constructive global conversations are encouraged to submit their applications before the closing date.
