Applications are now open for the Amani Pamoja (Peace Together) Training Course 2026, a fully funded international training programme that will take place in Vilanova i la Geltrú, Barcelona, Spain, from November 27 to December 3, 2026. The initiative is designed to equip young peacebuilders with advocacy and dialogue skills that will enable them to influence peace policies, strengthen youth participation in decision-making, and build partnerships across Africa and Europe.

The programme is organised through a collaboration between Agency for Peace (Italy), Centre for Youth Dialogue (Tanzania), Fundació Catalunya Voluntària (Spain), Lamu Youth Alliance (Kenya), and Peace Up!/Youth Peace Ambassadors Network (Germany). It forms part of the Amani Pamoja (Peace Together) project, which seeks to create a transnational learning alliance focused on youth engagement in peacebuilding and the Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) Agenda.

The training will bring together 24 young peacebuilders from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Germany, Spain, and Italy, alongside facilitators and representatives from the partner organisations. Participants will take part in three online preparatory meetings before attending the five-day residential training in Spain.

During the programme, participants will strengthen their advocacy and policy dialogue skills, explore strategies for engaging policymakers, learn about the Youth, Peace and Security Agenda and the EU Youth Strategy, and exchange experiences with other young leaders working to promote peace. The course will also focus on topics such as youth participation, conflict prevention, reintegration, protection, partnership building, and creating alliances that support vulnerable communities, including women, refugees, minorities, and young people.

Applicants must be committed to attending all three online preparatory meetings, which will be held in October and November 2026, as well as the in-person training in Spain.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should be between 18 and 35 years old if applying from East Africa or 18 and 29 years old if applying from Europe. They must be members of a youth-led or youth-focused organisation, demonstrate a strong interest in peacebuilding and advocacy, have at least a B2 level of English, and be legally resident in one of the participating countries. Preference will be given to applicants who have not previously participated in international exchange programmes or who face barriers to accessing such opportunities.

Funding

The programme is funded through Erasmus+, covering participants’ travel expenses, accommodation, meals, local transportation, and all training materials throughout the mobility. While most costs are covered, some minor expenses, such as visa fees or specific insurance requirements, may not be fully funded. Selected participants will receive support from the organisers throughout the visa application process, including an invitation letter and hotel confirmation.

Application Deadline

Applicants residing in Africa must submit their applications by August 16, 2026, while applicants from Europe have until September 16, 2026 to apply. Successful applicants will be notified of the outcome via email after the selection process.
