The World Forum for Democracy serves as a unique platform for political leaders and activists to engage in discussions and find solutions to significant challenges faced by democracies worldwide. It aims to identify, analyze, and promote innovative initiatives that enhance democracy at the grassroots level and foster their implementation on a broader scale, ultimately strengthening democratic societies. The focus of the 2023 edition of the Forum is whether democracy can ensure and bring about peace. The discussions will revolve around successful real-life initiatives, from which general guiding principles will be derived to guide future policies and actions.

As part of this event, the Youth Department of the Council of Europe will invite and prepare a delegation of young individuals to actively participate in conversations with decision-makers and influential figures, exploring the question of whether democracy and peace are interconnected.
