Applications for the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) Technical Fellowships 2023 are now open!

The Technical Fellowships program, along with its French sub-programme dedicated to promoting cancer control in Francophone Africa, Bourses pour l'Afrique Francophone, is supported by various international cancer societies, organizations, and foundations. This call specifically targets cancer professionals from low and middle-income countries who aim to enhance their skills and knowledge in cancer control.

The primary objectives of this call for applications are to:

1. Facilitate the international exchange and development of technical knowledge and skills in all areas of cancer control.
2. Build capacity for individuals and their home organizations by effectively applying and disseminating newly acquired skills upon return.
3. Support the development of networks of cancer control professionals to encourage the continued sharing of best practices, knowledge, and informal support or training.

Funding:

The maximum level of funding for the Technical Fellowship is based on the duration of the program, ranging from two weeks to eight weeks, with funding amounts varying accordingly.

Eligibility:

Eligible candidates are cancer professionals residing in low and middle-income countries, engaged in cancer prevention or early detection fields, such as public health investigators, implementation and translational researchers, pathologists, epidemiologists, tobacco control activists, and cancer registrars. They should be in the early stages of their careers and hold at least an MSc or MA.

In addition, clinicians and nurses established in oncology practice with a minimum of an MD degree (for doctors) or RN (for nurses) are eligible to apply. However, medical and PhD students are not eligible for this program.
