Calling for Applications to Join the UPG Sustainability Leadership Class of 2024

UPG Sustainability Leadership is a dynamic movement that rallies individuals and organizations to champion positive citizen leadership in sustainability. It empowers citizens at all levels to take proactive steps, aligning with UPG's ethos of action rather than waiting for others. This movement embodies the belief that everyone can contribute to a more sustainable world.

UPG's vision of sustainability encompasses not only traditional "green" concerns like afforestation, waste recycling, energy management, and ocean preservation but also longstanding societal issues such as education, healthcare, employment, gender equality, sustainable consumption, and production. UPG's compass in this mission is the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). A highlight of this initiative is the annual #UPGSustainability Leadership training program, benefiting over 500 young adults worldwide.

Benefits:

- Participation in UPG Sustainability Leadership is FREE for selected candidates. All 500 participants will receive online training at no cost and obtain certification as UPG Sustainability Leaders upon course completion.
- Participants chosen for the 1-week immersive excursion will have all program costs covered, including training materials, accommodation, subsistence, local transportation, and round-trip international flights from their hometown to the US.

Eligibility:

Open to individuals who:

- Are passionate about specific areas related to sustainability (e.g., jobs, education, oceans); no need to be passionate about all areas.
- Have prior experience in sustainability initiatives AND those who have not taken any prior action.
- Hail from all regions of the world.
- Are aged 18 to 35 between March 1 and July 31, 2024.
- Possess varying educational backgrounds.
- Exhibit strong motivation to become UPG Sustainability Leaders.
- Are willing and capable of taking action on sustainability.
- Share UPG's mission to empower people to improve the world through positive action.

Evaluation:

Applications will be evaluated based on four key sections:

1. Profile: Who you are, contributing to diversity.
2. Motivation: Why you aspire to be a UPG Sustainability Leader.
3. Capability: Your capacity to realize your goals.
4. Potential for Impact: The potential of your early ideas.
