The Eiffel Excellence Scholarship Program, established by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, aims to attract top foreign students to enroll in masters and PhD programs at French higher education institutions. It targets future foreign decision-makers in various fields of study and encourages applicants up to 25 years old from developing countries for master's programs and up to 30 years old for PhD programs. The program covers diverse fields, including science, technology, biology, health, ecological transition, mathematics, digital sciences, engineering, humanities, social sciences, French history, language, civilization, law, political science, economics, and management.

Candidates nominated by French institutions commit to admitting them to accredited master's degree programs, accredited engineering programs, or joint doctoral programs in partnership with institutions abroad. The scholarship period aligns with the academic year, starting between September 1 and December 31, with no postponement allowed. It funds only those study components taking place in France, excluding certain internship or exchange periods.

For master's level, the scholarship duration varies: up to 12 months for those entering the second year of a master's program (M2), up to 24 months for those starting the first year (M1), and up to 36 months for those entering an engineering program. At the doctoral level, the scholarship supports doctoral candidates for up to 18 months in France, beginning from September 1, 2023, onwards.

Recipients of the Eiffel scholarship receive monthly allowances of €1,181 for master's level and €1,700 for doctoral level, along with additional services such as international airfare, domestic travel support, insurance, housing assistance, and cultural activities. It's important to note that the program does not cover tuition and fees for master's or doctoral studies.
