The APFSD Youth Forum 2024, organized by co-conveners ARROW, Youth LEAD, Y-PEER Asia Pacific Centre, in partnership with various organizations like APRCEM and UN ESCAP, will be held from February 15–17, 2024. With the theme centered around reinforcing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and combating poverty amidst multiple crises, this hybrid forum will gather diverse youth organizations to discuss the 11th APFSD's theme. Its objectives include integrating youth perspectives into the regional sustainable development agenda, fostering meaningful dialogues among stakeholders, addressing systemic issues through an intersectional lens, providing a platform for learning and engagement, and advancing advocacy based on prior AFPSD Regional Youth Declarations. Key discussions will revolve around SDGs 1, 2, 13, 16, and 17.

Program Benefits

The forum aims to gather a diverse array of youth-led and youth-serving organizations, encompassing adolescents and young individuals under 30, to engage in discussions regarding the 11th APFSD theme. Additionally, a specific group of young individuals will receive complete funding to participate in the Forum, either in person or online.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible applicants should fall within the age range of 13 to 30 years old and should demonstrate a progressive mindset that aligns with human rights-based approaches. Their applications should showcase unique capabilities relevant to the SDGs being reviewed in the context of the 11th APFSD. Understanding of the SDGs at either country or regional levels is essential. Priority will be given to individuals from marginalized or socially excluded groups, including those from remote areas, to ensure a diverse and inclusive participation at the APFSD Youth Forum. Consideration will also be extended to applicants who have previously engaged in APFSD Youth Forums, contributed to past APFSD Call to Action initiatives, or have attended previous intergovernmental APFSD events. The eligibility spans across the Asia-Pacific Region.
