The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN80) Fellowship Programme is now accepting applications. The next generation of people who want to actively participate in their local communities and help shape the direction of Internet policy worldwide is what the ICANN organisation is searching for. At ICANN, significant work is being done on a daily basis.

Candidates are judged on how well they articulate their opinions on internet issues, how interested they are in ICANN and the Internet ecosystem, how much they want to be a part of the ICANN community, and how much they want to learn more about ICANN's mission.

Program Benefits

ICANN will arrange and cover the cost of all travel, including flights and lodging. It is the participant in NextGen@ICANN's obligation to cover any additional travel expenses.
To help cover acceptable individual expenses (such as meals, transportation to and from the airport, and incidentals), a stipend of no more than US $500.00 will be given. Participants in NextGen@ICANN will receive a stipend after demonstrating that they have gotten their visa, if applicable, and that ICANN's travel agent has completed their flight booking.

Eligibility Criteria

NextGen eligibility is available to students between the ages of 18 and 30 who are presently enrolled in school in the ICANN territory, interested in Internet governance, and the future of the Internet. They are required to participate fully in ICANN meetings and events, show a project for five to ten minutes during the meeting, and attend. In the event that they are chosen, candidates must be able to attend and provide presentations on subjects including research, ICANN events, related websites, or thesis projects.
