Applications are being accepted for the SPSAS Co-designing Biodiversity Assessments, which will enable young scientists and environmental technicians to create, gather, and evaluate biodiversity data that will be useful for bolstering efficient environmental action plans and policies. The Sało Paulo School of Advanced Science (SPSAS) Biodiversity.

By addressing the genetic, phylogenetic, functional, and sociocultural aspects of the biodiversity of important taxa, they want to create thorough yet flexible evaluation methods that satisfy practical needs.

About the School

The central objective of SPSAS Co-designing Biodiversity Assessments is to empower young scientists and environmental technicians to design, obtain, and analyze biodiversity data suitable for supporting effective environmental action programs and policies.

We aim to encompass biodiversity of key taxa in their genetic, phylogenetic, functional, and sociocultural dimensions, developing comprehensive and adaptable assessment procedures that meet real-world demands.

Program Benefits
FAPESP provides funding for SPSAS - Biodiversity, with additional support from several organisations and agencies. There is no tuition and participants who do not have their own funds can receive financial support for travel and other fees.
Eligibility Criteria
Young scientists from government agencies and non-governmental organisations working in the environmental sector, both in Brazil and abroad, particularly PhD candidates and postdoctoral fellows, as well as technicians (analysts, researchers).
Remarks
The selection committee's goal is to choose a group of participants who represent variety in all its forms.
The comparison study will take into account the self-identification of gender, ethnicity, and disability within each group.
Applicants who had times of professional disruption are welcome to address and clarify them in their cover letters, so that the selection process will take them into consideration.
