Work Description:

To better serve the needs of those most impacted by crises and disasters, the MEAL Senior Technical Advisor serves as a senior representative that guarantees the calibre and efficacy of multi-million dollar humanitarian responses and activities.

This is carried out by:implementing humanitarian initiatives and actions to create and enhance MEAL capabilities, procedures, and systems

Creating new methods, guidelines, and instruments to assist respondents in applying the best MEAL practices
enhancing local capacity to spearhead MEAL in times of emergency

In order to give help where it is most needed and where programmatic risks are greatest, these actions are carried out in close conjunction with the regions.

Location: This role may be performed remotely from a World Vision International registration site, but it also involves up to 50% foreign travel.

The work entails deploying MEAL to programmes financed by the UN and emergencies, guaranteeing robust procedures and responsible, data-driven programming. Reactions must to follow Disaster Management (DM) guidelines and make use of the proper resources. To assist in resource acquisition, MEAL assessments are carried out in collaboration with Support Offices (SO).

Programmes financed by the UN show decreased risk as a result of using MEAL techniques that are based on food and/or cash. Based on field usage, methods and tools are upgraded frequently. By providing learning programmes for MEAL professionals, field capability is increased and they are guaranteed to be able to lead MEAL in times of crisis.

A roster of MEAL staff members who can be deployed is updated, and training materials are combined and improved. Working with regional leadership teams, Humanitarian Emergency Affairs, international food assistance, and operational teams is another aspect of the work.

Proficiency in French and English is preferred. The position requires field expertise in vulnerable situations, outstanding networking, HEAT certification, strong statistical or research abilities, and the capacity to influence strategic data.
