PAID OPPORTUNITY: Join the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs Youth Advisory Committee program 2024

The Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs is a group of about 10 young people from different parts of the world. They help the ministry with advice on things like education, jobs, and how young people can get involved internationally. This collaboration brings fresh ideas and perspectives to the ministry's decision-making.

The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs started the Youth at Heart Strategy in 2020. It aims to give young people a bigger role in international decision-making, especially in education and jobs. As part of this plan, the International Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) was set up. Its job is to make sure the ministry's policies match the needs of young people in places like the Sahel, Horn of Africa, Middle East, and North Africa.

Members of the YAC get a monthly payment of €158. They also get all expenses covered for traveling to and from the Netherlands, including visas, flights, and accommodation.

To join, you need to be between 18 and 29 years old by March 27, 2024. You should be good at English (at least B1 level), able to communicate well with people from different cultures, and have a stable internet connection for online meetings. You should be ready to dedicate around 10 hours per week to YAC activities, excluding time spent in the Netherlands.

You must be a citizen of one of the countries in focus regions like Benin, Burundi, Egypt, Benin, Burundi, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Jordan, Lebanon, Mali, Morocco, Mozambique, Niger, Uganda, Palestinian Territories, Senegal, Chad, The Kingdom of the Netherlands, Tunisia, South Africa, South Sudan, Yemen, etc. You should be involved in your local community and have connections with other young people. It's important to care about global issues and have some experience in a professional setting.

You should be able to think critically and give feedback on policies. Good communication and teamwork skills are essential. You should also be passionate about representing young people's interests and be open to learning and growing.
