Remote Job Opportunity : Internews is hiring a Gender & Marginalized group advisor

To help local civil society, independent media, and human rights defenders better prevent and respond to digital repression in their own contexts, especially in repressive contexts, Internews is looking for a Gender and Marginalised Groups (GMG) Advisor for a global Internet freedom award that will be funded by USAID in the near future.

With a networked strategy including global, regional, and local players, the activity will centre on enhancing civil society's long-term, local resilience. Digital security advocacy and participation, censorship circumvention, and comprehensive legal, psychological, and physical security support are all areas in which the activity will offer technological aid. Reports to the Chief of Party (COP) will be made by the GMG Advisor.

The main offices of Internews are located in London, UK; Washington, DC; and Arcata, CA. Applications from applicants located anywhere in the world are invited for this 100% remote role. People need to be able to work where they are now authorised to, without needing Internews sponsorship. Furthermore, Internews is unable to support totally remote work in some places.

The project's objectives are to create a plan for gender equality and social inclusion (GESI), manage programmes for psychosocial support, and incorporate GESI initiatives into a range of activities. The group will train personnel and participants and increase GESI's capacity.

Additionally, they will assess GESI problems, create communications materials, and involve vulnerable groups in the planning and assessment of programmes. The group will also check the programme documentation for inclusion and gender sensitivity.

Candidates are invited to apply as soon as possible because applications will be examined on a rolling basis.
