Located in the AS/HR/ICT Division of the UNFCCC secretariat in Bonn, Germany, is the post of Administrative Officer, P-3. It is a member of the PC Programme Administrative Team (PAT), which is in charge of giving the department and its many divisions support and direction for procurement, budgetary and financial management, and human resources. The PC PAT's Team Lead, P-4, is the person to whom the Administrative Officer reports.

Within their assigned jurisdiction, the Administrative Officer is in charge of a number of tasks, such as budgeting and finance, general administration, human resource management, and general administration. Along with working with counterparts from donors, they monitor and analyse the work programme and budget, create procedures, and offer advice on financial management. They also manage the upkeep and requirements for workplace technology. They are competent in making sound decisions and exercising sound judgement as managers.

Experience
Essential: a minimum of five years of ever more responsible experience in a relevant subject, such as finance, accounting, administration, or programme management.
Experience in supervision is necessary.
Language proficiency:
Essential: It is necessary to speak and write English fluently.
Proficiency in additional UN official languages is considered advantageous.
