Fully Funded To USA : Apply for the 2024 Education USA Scholars Program
For the 2024 EducationUSA Scholars Programme, the U.S. Embassy in Kampala is looking to recruit thirty academically talented Ugandan students who would like to study for a BA or MA in the United States. The 12-month EducationUSA Scholars Programme provides guidance and mentoring throughout the application process to make it easier for students to enrol in American higher education.
Students enrolled in the EducationUSA Scholars Programme will assist prospective students applying to American colleges and universities by working with the EducationUSA office at the US Embassy and the Kampala American Centre. Selected students will receive assistance with the application process by attending regular workshops. Over the course of this year and the following year, students will collaborate with our EducationUSA advising staff in an effort to gain admission and financial aid so they can start their studies in the United States in August 2025.
Students will be chosen through a virtual interview, leadership abilities, essay writing, and academic records. Ten exceptionally talented but economically disadvantaged students will be chosen from the 30 finalist candidates to take advantage of the Opportunity Fund Programme, a sub-cohort.
As a component of the EducationUSA Scholars Programme, the Opportunity Fund Programme provides financial assistance to internationally exceptional students who are economically disadvantaged and highly competitive for full financial aid but lack the resources to apply to American colleges. The upfront expenses of applying to colleges and institutions in the United States, including as application fees, standardised exam costs, internet data charges, visa fees, and overseas travel, are helped for students. The Opportunity Fund programme does not guarantee admission or financial aid awards at U.S. colleges and universities; rather, it simply pays application fees for degree programmes at recognised American schools and universities.
Students in the EducationUSA Scholars Programme who are not chosen for the Opportunity Fund should be ready to cover the costs associated with applying to universities. These costs may include, but are not limited to, SEVIS/VISA fees, college application fees, and registration fees for mandatory exams such as the SAT and TOEFL.
Don't miss out on the application deadline which is Tuesday, April 30th at 5:00pm EAT.
