Our Mission
Empowering young Africans to drive positive change within their communities.

The African Climate Innovation Challenge is a collaborative initiative developed and led by 3 E’s 4 Africa (3E4A), Green Africa Youth Organization (GAYO), and Start.Up Lounge Africa (SLA). This project targets innovative young African leaders, inspiring and equipping them to make a meaningful impact in their communities.

We emphasize four key modules to address sustainability challenges through entrepreneurship and innovation.

Objectives
- Supporting African communities in building resilience and adapting to the impacts of climate change at the local level.
- Equipping youth and communities across Africa with the skills, tools, and knowledge to make a positive local impact.
- Fostering knowledge exchange by blending traditional local practices with scientific or modern approaches.
- Tackling climate issues in Africa through innovative entrepreneurial solutions.

Program Benefits
- Prize funds of up to USD 10,000 for winning startups to put their innovative ideas into action within their communities.
- Customized curriculum for participants to support the growth of their startups.
- Opportunity to pitch your startup and solutions to key climate stakeholders and an international audience.
Eligibility Criteria
- Ensure your team is prepared to fully commit to ACIC's requirements before applying.
- Teams must consist of at least two members; applications from single-member startups will not be accepted.
- Female-led teams and those with 40-50% female representation are especially encouraged to apply.
- All team members should be of African descent and based in Africa.
- The startup must center around climate change mitigation or adaptation.
- Your startup should have reached at least the prototype or MVP stage; projects still in the ideation phase will not be considered.
- Team members must be between 18 and 35 years old and fluent in either English or French.
