Nominations may be submitted by member states, top UN officials from the past or present, as well as by regional, international, and non-governmental organisations.
Up to four candidates from member states are solicited, with at least half or more of the nominees being female.
To further this campaign's and the Global Call's goals, Member States may propose one more candidate (of a different nationality) from an underrepresented area.
It is highly recommended that all Member States share their nominations in response to the Global Call, especially those from underrepresented regions.
Applications may also be submitted by individuals. Those who have served at the D1 level or higher and who meet the other qualifying conditions, including current and former UN staff members, are also eligible.
