FULLY FUNDED : Apply for the 2026 Climate Catalysts Programme for Young Climate Innovators

Applications are now open for the 2026 Climate Catalysts Programme, an online regional fellowship designed to support young innovators developing solutions to climate and environmental challenges across the Asia-Pacific region.

The programme targets youth-led initiatives working on clean water access, renewable energy, air quality improvement, sustainable food systems, circular economy approaches, and nature-based solutions. It aims to help early-stage projects strengthen their impact, connect with regional ecosystems, and explore pathways for scaling inclusive and resilient climate solutions.

Programme Format

The Climate Catalysts Programme will run as an 8-week online fellowship from April to May 2026, offering structured learning sessions, peer-to-peer exchange, and access to a regional network of climate innovators and ecosystem partners.

The initiative is led by UNDP in partnership with Microsoft, with support from Youth Co:Lab, YECAP, ICIMOD, and other regional partners committed to advancing youth-driven climate action.

Areas of Focus

The programme welcomes innovations across multiple climate and sustainability themes, including:

  • Clean energy and water management solutions

  • Sustainable agriculture, aquaculture, and food security

  • Air quality monitoring and emission reduction technologies

  • Nature-based solutions and ecosystem restoration initiatives

  • Climate technology and digital tools such as AI, IoT, and citizen science platforms

  • Climate resilience, youth mobilization, and community preparedness initiatives

    Expected Impact Areas

Participants are encouraged to demonstrate or plan for measurable environmental and social outcomes, such as:

  • Reduction or offsetting of carbon emissions

  • Biodiversity protection and ecosystem restoration

  • Improved access to safe water and renewable energy

  • Waste reduction and circular economy solutions

  • Green job creation and sustainable livelihoods

  • Environmental education and community empowerment

Formal impact measurement systems are not required, as early-stage initiatives will receive support in building capacity for monitoring and evaluation.

Eligibility Criteria
- The programme is open to youth-led startups, social enterprises, non-profits, and community initiatives in the Asia-Pacific region that are beyond the idea stage and piloting climate solutions. Founders must be 18–35 years old and able to participate fully in online activities.

- Initiatives led by women and those serving underserved communities are strongly encouraged to apply.
