SDSN Youth Introduces Applications for the 2025 Local Pathways Fellowship

The Sustainable Development Solutions Network Youth (SDSN Youth) is excited to unveil the opening of applications for its 2025 Local Pathways Fellowship (LPF). This extraordinary initiative calls upon emerging leaders who are deeply committed to advancing sustainable urban development to actively contribute to the realization of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The Local Pathways Fellowship offers a transformative platform for aspiring changemakers to turn their sustainability visions into tangible actions, fostering progress toward the SDGs within their local communities and beyond. As a flagship program under SDSN Youth, this fellowship provides young urban leaders with the essential tools, expertise, and connections necessary to address the multifaceted challenges facing cities today.

Focusing on Sustainable Development Goal 11, which emphasizes sustainable cities and communities, the fellowship offers a comprehensive training program designed to convert innovative ideas into impactful initiatives. From grassroots campaigns to entrepreneurial ventures and policy development, LPF empowers fellows to drive meaningful change in urban spaces.

Eligible candidates for the program are individuals aged 18 to 30, ranging from students to early-career professionals, all sharing a passion for creating sustainable urban futures. Applicants are expected to bring at least one year of academic or practical experience in fields such as urban planning, advocacy, or community development. Additionally, a clear and actionable project concept aligned with SDG 11 is required, along with the ability to dedicate 4-6 hours per week to the program from February through November 2025.

This fellowship offers a unique opportunity for young leaders to develop innovative solutions, build professional networks, and contribute to creating cities that are more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable.
